The Authority intends to award a multi-supplier Framework Agreement for the supply and delivery of protection relays. The Authority currently utilise a single relay product range to cover backup protection and bay control functions across multiple applications at 33kV, and as the main protection relay at 11kV. This relay range is coming to the end of its production life; therefore, the Authority is looking to proactively replace this device with modern suitable alternatives. The functional requirements and aim of this tender are to cover existing BAU applications as well as providing ‘digital’ substation features accessible in the future. This is to ensure business continuity with pipeline projects as well as mitigate the risk of having to change a protection relay when transitioning to digital substation technology or applying extended features.
