Vestfold Hospital Trust would like to procure one (1) complete MRI, 1.5T. The MRI Department at SIV Tønsberg will move into a new building. We would like to procure an MRI 1.5 T for installation in a new building, which is expected to be completed in autumn 2023. Installation is scheduled for Q4 2023/Q1 2024. The MRI laboratory at SIV Tønsberg must cover a large spectrum of examinations: Imaging pelvic oncology (prostate, rectum, gynaecology), head and neck/throat, spinal channel/medullary, column, and full body, imaging abdomen (a lot of livers and MRCP), muscle and skeleton, angiography both contrast reinforced and flow-based, as well as mammary. Many of the patients are in bad condition and have challenges with both respiration and pain. A complete system is expected with modern acceleration techniques and free breathing techniques that facilitate high quality examinations with minimum strain on patients. We also examine patients under anaesthesia, both children and adults. A lot of weight will be put on picture quality. The machine will be used by a large group of radiographers. The panorama of examinations is large and it is very important that the user friendliness is good. The machine will be operated both during the day and evening, with emergency cover also at weekends, year round including public holidays. The equipment must be suitable for both admitted and outpatient patients. The machine will be placed in a middle floor (2nd floor), with patient treatment in the floors above and below.
