Description
Bristol City Council (BCC) intends to enter into a 5-year DPS Contract starting April 2020 with approved contractors for the purpose of remedial fire stopping and asbestos removal to low-rise flats and maisonettes. This contract involves carrying out fire compartmentation works to occupied residential flats and communal areas to blocks of between two and five storeys high blocks with various tenures. In addition some work may be required to be carried out in our high-rise blocks. The value of the work is estimated to be around GBP 1 000 000 per year with individual contracts ranging from GBP 50 000 to GBP 450 000 depending on the package of work. Where possible packages will be made up of blocks of flats in close proximity to each other. Bristol City Council (BCC) is currently replacing over 1 000 fire door sets per year with the doors and joinery being produced by our own joinery workshop and installed by the in-house workforce. However they do not currently have capacity to meet all our programme requirements. Therefore BCC intends to enter into a 5-year DPS Contract starting April 2020 with approved contractors to meet our programme requirements. The contract will be for: — fit only FD30s or FD60s fire doors and frames supplied by BCC; or — supply and fit new FD30s or FD60s fire doors and frames (low volumes only); or — supply and fit new timber framed glazed fire screens (low volumes only); or — maintenance and repair of fire doors; or — supply and fit fire resistant meter cupboard doors (low volumes only).
