Supply and Delivery of 4” X 3” Superplastic Forming Tool

This contract notice is related to the procurement for the Supply and Delivery of 4” X 3” Superplastic Forming Tool to be used in the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS). The Contracting Authority requires a single supplier to provided a solution with 1200T Superplastic Forming press with overall dimensions of circa 1220 x 915 x 270 mm (made up of two halves of 135 mm thickness) to allow for these components to be formed for a directly funded Boeing project to be used in one of the superplastic forming presses at the NMIS. Lot 1: This procurement is for the supply and delivery of 4’ X 3’ Superplastic Forming Tool with an approximate size of 1200 x 900 x 450mm. No Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), installation or commissioning is required. Tooling is required to allow for these components to be superplastically formed in the 1200T ACB SPF press at the AFRC. The tooling has been designed as part of a directly funded Boeing project activity, and all IP and outcomes from the project are owned by Boeing. The specification for the procurement includes a non-exhaustive list of key features as below: - Be supplied in 316 stainless steel as per the drawing requirements, no alternative materials are acceptable for the requested tooling: - Raw material used for machining will be stock plate and not a speciality cast; and Geometric tolerancing and dimensional drawing requirement for all stated components are within your capabilities and will not be outsourced to ensure lead time is minimalised, with the largest component required being 1220 x 915 x 135 mm. The lead time for this requirement is expected to be within 8-weeks.
