Summary of the work Validate current architectural decisions, provide recommendations and produce technical architecture documentation in support of the development work required to integrate College Learn LMS platform National Identity Access Management solution and also to prepare technical architecture groundwork for making applications Cloud-ready. Specialist role Technical Architect Expected Contract Length two months (Fourty- Four working days) Latest start date Monday 31 October 2022 Maximum Day Rate £700 Who Speclialist Work With The Technical Architect will be working and liaising with the Principal Developer, Senior Software Developer and Senior Frontend Developer, with support from the wider internal development team and Lead Data Engineers for any work relating to existing databases. They will also be liaising with the Security Manager and potentially contacts from Home Office on the National Identity Access Management solution. What Specialists Work On Validate current architectural decisions, provide recommendations and produce technical architecture documentation in support of the development work required to integrate College Learn LMS platform National Identity Access Management solution and also to prepare technical architecture groundwork for making applications Cloud-ready. Skills & Experience • Have extensive experience designing software technical architecture patterns for web-based applications • Have strong experience producing detailed technical architecture documentation • Have strong understanding and proven experience designing architectural solutions to support authentication and integration with Identity Providers using OpenID Connect protocol • Have strong experience redesigning legacy software architectural patterns to become Cloud ready • Have strong understanding of web application security and designing architectural solutions to meet stringent security requirements • Have excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills • Have strong understanding of authentication of client web applications with Azure AD and Azure AD B2C services Nice to Haves • Provide evidence of prior integration work with the Home Office National Identity Access Management solution • Provide evidence of knowledge of UK Policing and associated Government agencies Work Location Work will be carried out remotely, with occasional meetings at 1-6 Citadel Place, Tinworth Street, London, SE11 5EF Working Arrangments Working arrangements to be agreed between the Principal Developer and supplier upon commencement of work. Weekly meetings at London offices as required by the project. This work is outcome based and working hours can be flexible as long as outcomes are achieved within the contract period. Is there an incumbent? No. This is a new role. 2. What is the IR35 status determination for this role? The IR35 status has been determined and has been detailed in the overview section of this advert. 3. Would the College of Policing accept a Candidate with DV clearance, or is the NPPV a must? Vetting of NPPV or higher is required. As DV clearance is higher this would be acceptable. 4. Do the candidates need to be NPPV/ SC cleared already or will you support this process? For longer contracts we would support the vetting process but given that this is only a 2 month contract we would need the vetting to be in place. 5. Is SC clearance alone (i.e. no NPPV3) enough to fulfill the security clearance requirement? SC and NPPV3 are both required.
