BHCC Redevelopment of Knoll House, Hove, to provide new independent living apartments for people with support needs.
Published
Description
The Knoll House project will deliver a new, modern block providing 28 apartments for people with acquired brain injuries, and for people with physical disabilities. Some units will be specifically for people aged between 18-25, and two of the new flats will be designed for bariatric clients. Knoll House is located on Ingram Crescent West, Hove BN3 5NX. The existing building will be demolished and redeveloped to provide high quality accommodation for independent living, together with associated communal space, and accommodation for staff who will provide 24-hour on-site management of the scheme. While there is an expectation that people living at the scheme will build links within the community, the new building and communal space within the block will remain private, rather than it being open to the wider community. The successful Contractor will be responsible for the demolition of the existing building (Knoll House, Ingram Crescent West, Hove BN3 5NX), and its replacement with a new block containing 28 flats and associated ancillary space. This will be in accordance with the scheme approved under Planning Application ref: BH2023/00912 (https://planningapps.brighton-hove.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=RS69HVDMMDS00&activeTab=summary) This tender is being run using the online tendering portal South East Shared Services ("the Portal").
