Description
An award has been made by Neath Port Talbot Council for the following: Background:- Neath Port Talbot Council has recently been awarded funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) will invest in local priorities and target funding where there is evidence of need. One strand of the funding is the ‘Place Anchor Scheme’ which includes the Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Events Fund (HCTE) and the Destination Marketing and Pride of Place Campaign. The HCTE fund aims to deliver heritage, culture and tourism priorities through capital and revenue grants to public, private and third sector organisations. The Destination Marketing campaign is designed to encourage the growth of the visitor economy and attract overnight stays by tourists to NPT. The Pride of Place Campaign aims to change perceptions of our area among the residents, businesses, and investors within the south Wales region. Research Rationale:- As part of the outputs of the above projects the Council is required to evidence a change in attitudes among residents and visitors to Neath Port Talbot. Research Objectives:- In line with the agreed project outcomes with the UK Shared Prosperity fund the objectives of the research are to: 1. Measure a 15% positive shift in attitudes of residents within the region and visitors in relation to perceptions of Heritage and Culture assets and initiatives within Neath Port Talbot. 2. Measure a 15% positive shift in the attitudes of residents within the region and visitors in relation to perceptions of Neath Port Talbot (attractions). Project Timescales:- The Phase One research must be undertaken between October and November 2023 and a summary report provided in January 2024. The Phase Two research must be undertaken between November 2024 and Dec 2024 and a summary report produced by in January 2025.
