At the perimeter, two PA-<br />5250 firewall appliances are deployed in a High Availability (HA) Active/Passive configuration,<br />forming the primary security enforcement point for all inbound and outbound traffic across<br />the University's campus network. Within the University's AWS environment, two VM-300 Series<br />firewall appliances sit behind a Gateway Load Balancer (GWLB), providing comprehensive<br />security controls for north-south and east-west traffic flows across the University's cloudhosted<br />workloads and connectivity back to the on-premises infrastructure. In Microsoft Azure,<br />two further VM-300 Series firewall appliances are deployed behind a load balancer to provide<br />security controls for the University's VDI environment. A further pair of VM-300 Series firewall<br />appliances, deployed in an Active/Passive High Availability configuration, deliver the<br />GlobalProtect remote access service for staff. Finally, a standalone PA-820 firewall appliance<br />provides dedicated security for the University's Cyber Lab environment.
