Cork City Council seeks to Appoint a Construction Contractor for Rehabilitation Works on Glyntown Bridge, Rathcooney Bridge and Glanmire Bridge

The provision of construction stage contractor, leading to the successful completion of Rehabilitation Works on Glyntown Bridge, Rathcooney Bridge and Glanmire Bridge. The completion of a Suitability Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) is required as part of the applicant’s tender submission. The works as described in the attached tender documentation will necessitate in-stream work. In-stream can only be undertaken during the Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) derogation period, July to September. Conditions imposed by An Bord Pleanála for each of the 3 bridges shall be strictly adhered to. In particular, the applicant shall ensure that all necessary resources are provided for in their tender submission to reflect conditions pertaining to mitigation measures to protect the environment, watercourse, and Special Area of Conservation (SAC). Glanmire Bridge is a protected structure and is also included in the Record of Monuments and Places. Cork City Council has appointed a Conservation Architect and an Archaeologist as part of the project team to provide guidance during all stages of the project. The applicant’s tender submission shall ensure that works carried out on this structure are in accordance with conservation best practices and that all necessary resources are provided for in their submission.
