Description

West Berkshire Council requires a suitably qualified electrical contractor to undertake electrical testing of equipment and systems with its corporate building portfolio and incorporate a reactive/emergency maintenance service. The Electricity at Work Act (1989) was introduced in order to prevent death or personal injury to any person from electrical causes in connection with work activities. Regulation 4 states that all electrical systems and equipment used in the working environment should be installed and maintained in a way that prevents danger and Regulation 4(2) advises Inspection and, where necessary, testing of equipment is an essential part of any preventive maintenance programme.
