Development of boardwalk, walking trails and fencing on 4 raised bog SAC sites

Description

The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, through the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), is implementing an EU LIFE funded raised bog restoration project ‘The Living Bog’ ( www.raisedbogs.ie ) across 12 raised bog Special Area of Conservation (SAC) sites. As part of this project the Minister invites tenders from economic operators for the development of amenity provisions within four raised bog SAC sites. This will include the installation of boardwalks / bog bridges, the upgrade of existing trackways and associated tasks such as fencing, parking / access provision and the erection of information signage. Lot 1: LOT1 Carrownagappul Bog SAC, Mountbellew Procurement competition for the construction of 285m of boardwalk, the development of parking facilities and improvement works to the access road. Lot 2: LOT2 Clara Bog SAC Procurement competition for the construction of 750m of boardwalk, the development of parking facilities and improvement works to the access road. Lot 3: LOT3 Ferbane Bog SAC Procurement competition for the construction of 660m of boardwalk, the development of parking facilities and improvement works to the access road. Lot 4: LOT4 Lough Ree Bog SAC, Kilteevan Resurfacing of access track (1250 linear metres).
