Description
The Council requires a supplier to organise a Christmas family event on Edgbaston Street in Birmingham city centre to drive footfall to the indoor and outdoor markets area. Event activity will take place on two separate days. Birmingham has been granted funding under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Welcome Back Fund to support the safe reopening of high streets and other commercial areas. A proportion of this funding is to develop events in a number of urban centre across the city in a covid safe manner which will drive footfall back to high streets and shopping areas. This contract is available for use for projects funded externally from the Council including Reopening High Streets Safely Fund and Welcome Back Fund which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Growth. Event to take place on two separate days, Saturday 11 December 2021 and Saturday 18 December 2021 on Edgbaston Street in Birmingham city centre from 11am to 4pm. The family event days will provide Christmas activities and attractions to Edgbaston Street which will in turn drive footfall to the markets area. The event will showcase the local businesses and traders and reinforce the message they are 'open and trading'. The event will have a Christmas theme and activity/entertainment which will create a festive and fun atmosphere in the markets area. Activity to include (but not limited to) the following: - Santa's grotto - Small children's ride - Reindeer within a viewing pen (if available and provider must hold Animal Exhibitors Licence) Please note all activity must be free of charge for visitors. The Council will be using its free to use e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and potential suppliers must register with the system to be able to express an interest.
