Description

South Lanarkshire Council has an ongoing requirement to procure a suitable routing and tracking system (telematics) to improve efficiency and reduce the ecological impact of the Council’s vehicles. The telematics system is required as it provides information on the utilisation of the Council’s fleet of vehicles and monitors the location, movement, status and behaviour of the vehicles via global positioning systems (GPS) with additional features added that records and tracks driver behaviour including incidents of engine idling and harsh braking. Lot 1: The collection and analysis of information provided enables changes in the use of vehicles that will help reduce carbon emissions, vehicle emissions, fuel costs and improve the services provided by a wide range of vehicles including roads maintenance (including winter maintenance), refuse collection, housing repairs and buses etc.
