The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) requires a supplier to supply a reduced ligature ablution door for the In-cell toilet facility within SPS Prison Establishments. The purpose of this notice to is gain an understanding of market availability prior to a procurement exercise being undertaken. The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) has issued this Preliminary Market Consultation (PMC) notice to gain an understanding the current market capability and potential innovation relating to the provision of reduced‑ligature ablution doors suitable for use within custodial cell environment. The purpose of this consultation is to gather information from suppliers, manufacturers, and relevant industry experts to determine whether suitable products currently exist, could be adapted, or could be developed to meet the operational and safety requirements of a custodial setting. The PMC will allow the contracting authority to assess the maturity of available solutions, explore opportunities for innovation, and understand technical, manufacturing and compliance considerations before shaping a future specification. This consultation is not a regulated procurement exercise and does not constitute an intention to award a contract.
