Call for Tender for the Provision of Irish Fishing Fleet Technical Efficiency Review

BIM wishes to invite tenders for the provision of technical and economic analysis services to update and expand the assessment of the Irish fishing fleet’s technical efficiency and capacity balance. The primary purpose of this tender is to appoint a contractor to: • Rebuild and update the BIM fleet technical efficiency database, • Reassess operational and technical efficiency by fleet segments, • Update capital and economic valuation of vessels and fishing capacity, • Assess fleet capacity relative to available fishing opportunities, with particular focus on the pelagic and whitefish sectors, • Develop restructuring and renewal scenarios to inform policy advice, • Provide output on carbon emissions by segments and provide scenarios on possible routes to greening the fleet.
