Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the provision of S39A Gas Engineering Support [629]

Description

The CRU is seeking engineering support and advisory services for Section 39A Consents. Under Section 39A of the Gas Act 1976, as amended, any entity who wishes to construct a transmission pipeline must obtain a Section 39A Consent from the CRU. The criteria for determination of Section 39A consents are set out in S.I. No. 264/2002 - Gas (Interim) (Regulation) Act 2002 (Criteria For Determination of Consents) Regulations 2002. The processing of a Section 39A Consent application involves assessing the applicant’s financial and technical engineering abilities to successfully and safely deliver the pipeline, as well as determining whether the pipeline project is likely to have any significant environmental impacts. The CRU is seeking expert support to assess the technical engineering reports received as part of Section 39A consent applications and to provide advisory support and recommendations regarding these engineering reports. Yearly forecasts for the Section 39A consent applications requiring engineering assessment from June 2026.
