Fife Council is seeking to establish a list of approved contractors to carry out major permanent adaptations. This includes but is not limited to, the installation of wet floor areas and associated works in privately owned properties referred by Fife Council Housing Services. Other works may include extensions, kitchen adaptations, and the creation of level external access. Once a property is referred, the end user will obtain supplier quotations. Fife Council will review the quotes for acceptance based on best value, adherence to specification and meeting the assessed needs. Upon acceptance of the quotation, the works may commence. All works will be carried out under SBCC terms and conditions. Supplier Requirements and Due Diligence Before being added to the approved supplier list, the following due diligence will be conducted: Financial check: A CreditSafe financial assessment. Insurance Level: minimum insurance level is required. The successful Tenderer will be required to provide evidence of appropriate insurance policies prior to commencement of the Framework. The values of the policies must be as follows: Employer’s Liability - GPB 10 million Public Liability (including Product Liability where appropriate) – GBP 5 million Professional Negligence - GBP 1 million The Contractor will be required to have the specified sum of Professional Negligence insurance in place for a period of up to 2 years after the end of the work. Vehicle Insurance – evidence of this for contracts where vehicles used. Insurance levels will be reviewed for each individual work package. PVG: might be required Accreditation: NICEIC or equivalent, Asbestos Awareness, Working at height regulation, CDM regulations, Workplace health, safety and welfare regulation 1992. (FC link H&S) Specifications: Contractors must comply with the specifications. (see the attached documents) Project examples: Submission of three examples of similar projects completed within the past three years, including experience of building warrants and planning applications. This work might be supported by the in-house team however an awareness of these would be beneficial. References: Provision of two relevant references. Emergency response capability: Suppliers must be able to respond to emergency repair requests within two hours. No VAT on Disability adaptation: Contractors have to claim it. Contractors who fail to meet performance expectations or do not deliver works to the agreed standard may be removed from the approved list. Submissions will be rejected if this requirement cannot be met due to distance or lack of engineering availability within the Fife area.
