Description

In accordance with the national screening program for bowel cancer (CRC screening) of all Norwegian 55 year olds, OUS HF [Oslo University Hospital Trust] will procure three coloscopy racks with scope guides, two free-standing scope washing machines and drying cabinets for a total of 12 flexible scopes for Gastromedisinsk poliklinikk/Ullevål [the Gastromedical Outpatient Clinic/Ullevål] from Olympus Norge AS. Lot 1: In accordance with the national screening program for bowel cancer (CRC screening), OUS HF [Oslo University Hospital Trust] will procure three coloscopy racks with scope guides, two free-standing scope washing machines and drying cabinets for a total of 12 flexible scopes for Gastromedisinsk poliklinikk/Ullevål [the Gastromedical Outpatient Clinic/Ullevål] from Olympus Norge AS. Three new scope rooms will be establishing for this screening programme. The Gastromedical Department examines and treats patients with all types of disorders in the gastrointestinal/intestinal tract, the liver, bile ducts and pancreas. The Gastromedical Outpatient Clinic is one of the largest in Norway and carries out a large number of examinations with qualified specialists at a high international level. Their scope park is diverse and used across the different rooms for best possible utilisation of the equipment. The personnel rotate between the different rooms and units, and standardisation of the equipment gives efficient operation and good patient safety. Inclusion of the three new screening rooms in current operations is essential for an optimal degree of utilisation of the scope park. New scopes, racks and scope guides must be compatible with the existing equipment at the outpatient clinic. The outpatient clinic is standardised with endoscopes, endoscopy racks and scope guides from Olympus Norge AS. In connection with bowel screening it is a formal requirement that the scope can be traces, as this is important in consideration of any infection tracing. Oslo University Hospital Trust currently uses the existing image and video storage system Endobase for tracing the washing and drying process of endoscopes, which gives full control of the cleaning processes. This enables the hospital to trace use of the scope to the respective patient. Endobase currently communicates with the scope washing machines and drying cabinets (for flexible scopes) supplied by Olympus Norge AS. In consideration of infection it is not possible to have a divided or partial function for this. Technical requirements in relation to the existing equipment, patient safety, operation form, resource use, infection tracing and training of personnel in the different units forms the basis for the selection of Olympus Norge AS as the supplier.
