Description

Purchase of an Illumina NextSeq 550 System for the MRCG unit of the LSHTM. The contract will include delivery and installation to the Genomics core facility at the Fajara site within the Gambia along with service maintenance of the instrument. The LSHTM wish to inform the market that one of their units (MRC Gambia) intends to award a contract for the supply, installation and maintenance (including warranty) of an Illumina NextSeq 550, next-generation sequencing (NGS) instrument, for the Genomics Core Facility based in Fajara. The instrument is intended to upgrade the current functionality within the facility for high quality molecular analyses. This instrument will complement the MiSeq instrument currently in service within the facility. To change from the current Illumina platform would mean revalidation of all current reagents and protocols at significant cost and time. This instrument is also the only known instrument capable of providing the number of sequences generated in a single run required for a number of applications, such as whole genome sequence of eukaryotic organisms.
