Description

Waterways Ireland is a cross-border navigational authority responsible for the management, maintenance development and promotion of inland navigable waterways, principally for recreational purposes. We are the navigation authority for over 1,000 km of navigable inland waterways, comprising the Lower Bann Navigation; Erne System; Shannon-Erne Waterway; Shannon Navigation; Royal Canal; Grand Canal; Barrow Navigation and the restoration of the Ulster Canal. These Waterways and Navigations each comprise of a wide range of asset types that vary in age from new to 250 years, differ in terms of design and construction and give particular challenges in terms of asset management. Waterways Ireland are currently implementing an Asset Management Improvement Programme (AMIP), aligned to the Institute of Asset Management conceptual model and ISO55000. Given the above, Waterways Ireland is seeking suitably qualified support, to assist with the continued Asset Management Support and Oversight of the AMIP.
