Brecon Cathedral has have obtained a NLHF Development Stage Heritage grant and the project will repair the roofs of the building, create a new west entrance, and deliver reordering of the interior, as well as community, sustainability, and interpretation goals. We are seeking an Architect and Design Team Lead to coordinate a full design service for the development and delivery of the project. The Lead Architect will tender for and manage the complete work required to bring the project to completion. Inter alia, the team to carry out these services should be able to provide: Architectural design services Principal designer Heritage and conservation planning services to ensure compliance with permissions including archaeological investigations where relevant. Structural engineering solutions. Engineering services. QS input. Access consultation. Environmental and sustainability design. Acoustic improvements. Applicants will be asked to quote for both Development and Delivery Phases of the project, with a break clause between these stages. The Architect and Design Team lead must be an accredited building conservation architect and must commit to spending time on site.
