To support delivery of the UK Road Investment Strategy (RIS1 and RIS2): — https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/road-investment-strategy) DIPs will design and construct highway projects across England under NEC4 standard terms, with suitable amendments. The term will be from 2018 to 2024. The framework will be divided into 8 lots, with each lot having a specific value threshold for work packages and covering a defined geographical area: — lots 1 to 3 (Band A) are for work packages not exceeding 100 000 000 GBP, — lots 4 to 8 (Band B) are for work packages exceeding 100 000 000 GBP. Candidates who apply in lots 1 to 3, will not be permitted to apply in lots 4 to 8. Successful DIPs will be guaranteed an initial package of work under each lot with subsequent contracts being allocated either on a direct award basis or under mini-competition which may include the suppliers appointed to all lots. The procurement documents will provide more detail on how work will be allocated. Provision of DIP services for packages of work with an estimated value up to £100m. Lot 1 schemes will primarily be in the South West and Midlands regions of England but the 2 successful tenderers may also have opportunities to win additional work packages or standalone schemes in the rest of England in the circumstances specified in the procurement documents. There will be 2 tenderers appointed to this lot. Following appointment to the framework, each successful tenderer will be awarded a package of work, with an approximate total value of between £25m and £83m.
