The Provision of Adopt a Monument project management service for the Heritage Council of Ireland

Published

Description

The Adopt a Monument Scheme is envisaged as a way of bringing monuments and local heritage from the periphery into the heart of a community. By providing expertise, mentoring and support, the scheme assists community groups in learning about and caring for their heritage. As developed in Scotland by Archaeology Scotland, Adopt a Monument provides people of all ages with the opportunity to engage with heritage in a manner which empowers and educates participants, whilst promoting a sense of ownership and civic pride.
