Description

Lot 1: This procurement is for the design and manufacture of Saloon LED Lighting System for London Underground's Central Line and Waterloo and City Line 92 Tube Stock (TS), comprising of 87.5 trains in total; as part of the Central Line Improvement Programme (CLIP). For the scope of these works, this consists of 85, 8-car Central Line trains and 2 and a half, 8 car Waterloo and City Line trains. CLIP will ensure that the 92 TS rolling stock remains operationally sound and fit for purpose until the fleet is replaced through the final phase of the Deep Tube Upgrade Programme. CLIP is aligned with TfL's strategic priorities to: - "Keep London Moving", - "Keep London Growing" and - "Making Life in London Better". Through the installation of LED Lighting TfL aims to reduce power consumption and maintenance costs whilst improving ambience on the fleet to improve customer satisfaction.
