The Welsh Government requires a contract for the provision of professional catering advice and associated services to support its contract management activities in relation to its All Wales Catering Contract. The Welsh Government requires a contract for the provision of professional catering advice and associated services to support its contract management activities in relation to its All Wales Catering Contract (AWCC). The Welsh Government’s AWCC provides on-site catering and hospitality services at 10 of its offices across Wales and hospitality services at its London office. Catering outlets range from small/medium sized coffee shops to larger staff restaurant style catering facilities. The Welsh Government’s catering partner is required to satisfy a complex and challenging set of criteria including: exemplary standards in respect of sustainability and support of local food and food producers, as well as best value for both the user and the Welsh Government. The Professional Catering Advice and Associated Services contract will support the Welsh Government’s AWCC management team providing assurance that the contract specific objectives/criteria are being delivered by its catering partner to the standards expected of a high profile catering contract. The contract is also required to provide expert catering advice for a range of areas including but not limited to: — statutory compliance, — KPI monitoring in terms of contract performance, — operational procedures, — menu quality and healthy eating etc. The Successful Bidder will also provide additional support/services and adhoc advice to the contract management team. The scope of which includes but is not limited to the provision of support to the Welsh Government’s AWCC management team in its re-tender exercise for a new AWCC, the completion of annual compliance audits at each of the Welsh Government’s catered offices and the provision of detailed audit performance reports. The provision of a customer satisfaction survey tool is also required to enable the Welsh Government to canvas the opinions of the AWCC contract end users in order to help drive continuous improvement and innovation. The term for the Professional Catering Advice and Associated Services contract is 3 years with the option to extend for a further 3 years. Contract extensions are at the sole discretion of the Welsh Government and will be subject to annual performance review and annual extension. This contract supports the Welsh Government’s Environmental Policy Statement and Corporate Procurement Policies in order to improve its contracts by encouraging good environmental practice and the inclusion of social sustainability requirements where possible and to embed the principles of sustainable procurement in its day to day business activities.
