Description
The University of Strathclyde on behalf of the National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland (NMIS) seeks to secure a single suitably qualified supplier to Supply, deliver, install and commission a large robot cell and a small suite of collaborative robots on site at the Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC). Automation is an ever-growing sector and one which NMIS is actively involved in. In order to deliver on NMIS projects, the group seeks to acquire a large industrial robot and a suite of collaborative robots. These robots must have sufficient capabilities to deliver on current projects, as well as any future projects, allowing the group to work with technologically advanced and industry leading suppliers and thus elevate their research capabilities. The University require a single suitably qualified and experienced supplier to supply and deliver the equipment as per the specification. The supplier will be required to fulfil the non-exhaustive list as detailed within the specification: In line with the large industrial robot: - The offered equipment must have a rated payload capacity of between 180 kg and 220 kg - The offered equipment must be able to support 180 kg at least 300 mm away from the equipment flange, in all three principle orthoganal directions - The offered equipment must have a reach of at least 2.75 metres - The offered equipment must be able to operate in harsh environments, e.g, a hot forging environment - The offered equipment must come with a removable industry-leading force torque sensor that is capable of operation up to payload limit of equipment - The offered equipment must come with 25 metres of guarding that is at least 1.9 metres tall In line with the smaller collaborative robots (2 off required): - The offered equipment must have a maximum payload between 4 kg and 7 kg - The offered equipment must have a reach of at least 800 mm - The offered equipment must come with separate rotary joint that can be affixed to a tabletop (1 in total) In line with the larger collaborative robot: - The offered equipment must have a maximum payload between 9 kg and 13 kg - The offered equipment must have a reach of at least 1200 mm The offered solution must be delivered to the Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) by the Successful Tenderer.
