21-02232 Hire vessel for sampling from fish processing plants

Description

Havforskningsinstituttet [the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research] (the contracting authority) wants to hire a vessel, 18 m - 25 m length, as a base for sampling at fish processing plants on the stretch Helgeland - Varanger. The scope is approx. 180 days per year, following a specific mission plan, in the period 2022-2023, with the contracting authority's option for two years (2024-2025). The vessel will function as a means of transport, lodging and workplace for this activity. Lot 1: The Norwegian Institute of Marine Research will carry out biological sampling of the catches from other boats at the fish processing plants on the coastal stretch Varanger - Helgeland. The contracting authority wants to hire a vessel that can be manoeuvred steadily along the coastline and easily into fish processing plants in tight harbours. According to our experience the vessel must therefore be approx. 18 m - 25 m and have a transit speed of at least 9 knots. The vessel shall be used to travel from fish processing plant to fish processing plant in the area from Varanger to Helgeland. The vessel will be a means of transport between the fish processing plants on the relevant stretch, be a base with accommodation during the activity, and parts of the work will be carried out on-board. Most of the missions will start and end in Tromsø, but several trips per year will start and end in either Bodø or Svolvær. For further details see the attached tender documentation.
