Dumfries and Galloway Council with funding support from the SEPA Water Environment Fund will shortly be seeking professional services to carry out the technical and detailed design works for the Sanctuary project in Stranraer. Lot 1: Dumfries and Galloway Council with funding support from the SEPA Water Environment Fund will shortly be seeking professional services to carry out the technical and detailed design works for the Stanctuary project in Stranraer. The Stanctuary River Restoration Project is nearing completion of Concept Design (RIBA 2). This is a high-profile project that is attracting attention across the local authority and Scottish Government. The Project is part of the delivery of a multi-million-pound Place Plan Project being delivered in the town through UK GOV Borderlands Funding and is also part of the Solway Coast and Marine Project (SCAMP), a multi-disciplinary, multi partner, coastal habitat restoration initiative being ran by Dumfries and Galloway Council, Stanctuary will be a Coastal Burn Restoration pilot project. We would like an early indication from consultancies that would like to be considered. Because of the multi dispensary nature of the work we would welcome either single consultancy or company that have all the skills in house or a consortium that can bring all of the skills required together. To be considered you must be able to demonstrate competencies in: Design and supervision contract under NEC4 PSC (Professional Services Contract) IT services for computationally intensive tasks i.e. Hydrological and flood modelling River restoration experience, including fluvial morphology. Ecological appraisal Sustainability strategy to consider full life cycle of carbon costs. Review of sustainability objectives Procurement of sustainable progressive contractor Carbon calculator, carbon resilience and reporting Drafting and applying for CAR application (Controlled activities Regulation) licence Experience with Stakeholder engagement We expect this piece of work (RIBA 3&4) to be completed by March 2026 to allow for the construction (RIBA 5) phase to be commenced in April 2027.
