Description

KCS Professional Services, acting for and on behalf of Kent County Council (KCC) wish to create a regional, user friendly, time and cost-effective Framework Agreement for the supply of Electrical Vehicle Charging Points and Associated Services. This Framework will include two LOTS; LOT 1- Electrical Vehicle Charging Points & Associated Services Initially in Kent there will be 156 sites to start with, which require a range of charger speeds. It is expected that the supplier will fund most of the works and provide a revenue share back to the Customer. Government Grants (namely On-street Charging Scheme) could be applied for as part of the project and other external funding may be provided by project partners. The SE7 (South East Seven) are looking for Suppliers to provide an affordable charging network that will be widely used within the respective areas. Following the Governments pledge to cut carbon emissions by 80% by 2050, the sale of new petrol & diesel cars will be banned by 2035. This Framework Agreement will assist regional public sector organisations in being prepared for the increase in demand for charging points. LOT 2- Bus Charging Solutions Initially in Kent there is a requirement for an EV infrastructure that accommodates the power requirements and charging profile of Fastrack services. Infrastructure will need to be future proofed, taking into account service expansion as well as ensuring charge point hardware supports open protocol standards to allow flexibility of access and shared infrastructure opportunities to support increased electric bus future transition and wider community uptake. The opportunities will need to link and support the wider regeneration plans for the area allowing local communities to benefit from sustainable transport modes, access to charging infrastructure, local energy generation, support Zero Carbon plans and local air quality.
