The Irish Coast Guard, a division of the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport is seeking Tenders for the supply of a counterbalance Forklift Truck. The Fork Lift required must have energy source that is suitable for indoor, unventilated use, as per S.I. No. 299 of 2007: Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007, relating to indoor use of internal combustion engines. It must also be capable of assisting in a Pollution Emergency response, during such it would be required to lift containers weighing 4800KG and standard pallets or crates weighing up to 2500KG. It must reach a height of 6 metres. This must be done with an absolute minimum interruption to the process for Recharging/Re-fuelling/Fuel Cell replacement. Tender response must also include both routine and non-routine on-site maintenance agreement, detailing cost per year, for a minimum 5 year period. Routine maintenance on-site at the IRCG Stores premises must also include an Inspection that fulfils the legal obligation under ‘The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations of 2007 (S.I. No. 299 of 2007). Under Regulations 30 and 52 employers must ensure that forklift trucks hold a current “Report of Thorough Examination” following examination by a competent person. The examination must be carried out and report compiled every 12 months’
