Description

The contract comprises landscape and maintenance operations which includes selective felling, thinning, coppicing and woodland management operations. Collection/transportation of felled materials to be processed on site (chipped/mulched and spread, or stacking of cord wood, etc.), and collection/transportation of felled materials (retained by the contractor) to be removed from site (as applicable). Consideration should be given to protecting the environment during the works as advised in Forestry Commission Technical Note 011. • forestry works to woodlands across the borough, including thinning of canopy and tree removal, at the following 9 locations: Babbs Mill LNR Woodland, Fordbridge Rd, Kingshurst; Chelmsley Wood LNR Pocket Woodlands, Chelmsley Rd, Chelmsley Wood; Cole Bank Park LNR Pocket Woodlands, Forth Drive, Fordbridge; Elmdon Park Woodland, Elmdon Park Rd, Elmdon; Kingshurst Brook Woodland, Chapelhouse Road, Fordbridge; Knightsbridge Road Woodland, Lyndon; Malvern Park Woodland, Malvern/Brueton Park, Warwick Rd, Silhill; Marston Green Park LNR Woodland,Brooklands Way, Marston Green; Olton Wet Woodland, Olton Jubilee Park, Brackleys Way, Lyndon; and at the 3 provisional locations: Coleshill Heath Road Woodland, Marston Green; Damson Parkway compartment 1, Bickenhill; and Damson Parkway compartment 2, Bickenhill. • funded by Wildlife Ways (part European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), part DfT NPIF funding). • plans approved by Forestry Commission licence. • forms part of Wildlife Ways.
