The current Favero mid-size cots are no longer compliant with MHRA guidance on medical beds and bed rails, particularly regarding entrapment hazards, compatibility, and suitability for smaller children. Ongoing use increases safety risks and places the organisation in breach of national patient safety alerts and local medical equipment management policies. Introducing replacement mid-size paediatric cots will re-establish MHRA compliance, reduce risks of falls and entrapment, and better support toddlers who are mobile, children with reduced muscle tone or balance difficulties, and children with seizure or movement disorders.
