Description

UL participated in the Erasmus+ programme from its inception as a university. It is a corner stone in our academic programme and indeed in our Cooperative placement programme. Erasmus+ is also utilised to assist academic and professional staff explore best practices in other universities and work together to contribute towards a more international experience. We work annually to ensure that 600+ students experience a semester abroad. UL also encourage 100 staff or more to engage with the mobility programme. This mobility movement is reciprocal which ensures that our campus also benefits from an internationalisation at home perspective. UL needs a digital service comprising of an online platform that connects internal and external students and staff with our UL mobility teams in a streamlined, risk averse, integrated interface. UL in its Erasmus+ Charter has committed to digitise the mobility experience and move away from paper-based systems in line with the new Erasmus+ programme. The software platform will allow us to manage the large mobility numbers of students and staff, both inbound and outbound, fluidly and efficiently. It will also allow an improvement in the user experience for all key stakeholders; external university partners, applicants to and from UL, UL students and staff applying to go overseas, Erasmus Academic Coordinators in UL, UL Associate Deans International and most importantly the UL Global mobility teams. Per annum, we currently support inbound and outbound mobility of 700+ students each way totalling 1400 students in Erasmus and Exchange programmes- this is due to increase by 10% in the coming three years. UL also support inbound and outbound staff mobility of 100 each way, totalling 200 annually. Features of the software that are of importance include online forms, personalised student records, online balance equivalencies and partner performance reports. t
