The Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is committed to ensuring access to primary care services for local people who are homeless. The CCG is seeking to achieve this through the award of an APMS contract to NHS Solent Trust, for the provision of general medical services. This will enable access to GP services for homeless people, promote the health of homeless people, reduce inequalities and develop links with other providers of services to better meet the needs of the homeless population locally. The scope of the service includes the core and enhanced general medical services requirements of the NHS APMS standard contract plus has additional expectations to support the full delivery of the benefits listed above. This contract award follows a prior information notice that closed on 27 March 2020. The CCG is seeking to achieve this through the award of an APMS contract to NHS Solent Trust, for the provision of general medical services. This will enable access to GP services for homeless people, promote the health of homeless people, reduce inequalities and develop links with other providers of services to better meet the needs of the homeless population locally. The scope of the service includes the core and enhanced general medical services requirements of the NHS APMS standard contract plus has additional expectations to support the full delivery of the benefits listed above. The contract will run from 1 April 2020-30 September 2024 (4.5 years). The contract value for the 4.5 year length of the contract will be made up of circa GBP 34 809 per annum based on capitation per head of population plus and enhanced payment of GBP 486 565 per annum for the additional services, over and above core and enhanced general medical services requirements taking the contract value be up to GBP 502 378 per annum. The contract will be for the whole of homeless population of Southampton and is subject to variation depending on changes to list size in accordance with the terms of the APMS contract, currently 473 people (10/2018 data). The CCG is direct awarding this contract to Solent NHS Trust who currently provide core and enhanced general medical services to the homeless population in Southampton.
