Boiler House Chimney Remedial Works

Description

This work has been identified as essential maintenance following an annual condition surveys. The scope of work includes repairs to cracked mortar and brickwork, weathered brick facings, insecure cowlings, and corroded metal bands. These remedial works are necessary to maintain the chimneys in a safe condition and to prevent further deterioration. There is a significant Health & Safety requirement associated with this work. The areas beneath the chimneys are generally busy, occupied spaces, and RHUL must ensure that brickwork, mortar, and associated components do not deteriorate to a condition where there is a risk of falling material causing injury to staff, students, or visitors. Undertaking these repairs will mitigate that risk and ensure the continued safe operation of the surrounding areas. Work is required to commence by 10 August and will take approximately 20 days to complete. ## Contract award
