Supply, Installation & Maintenance of a Lo-Cal Gas Flare

Supply, installation, servicing and maintenance of a Lo-Cal Gas Flare. Decommissioning of existing flare and making safe, located at Auchinlea Landfill site which is located near Cleland North Lanarkshire at post code ML1 5LR The Council wishes to establish a contract for the supply installation, servicing and maintenance of a Lo-Calorific Flare at Auchinlea Landfill Site (LFS), Carlisle Road, Cleland, ML1 5LR. The site was operated by North Lanarkshire Council for the disposal of household, industrial and commercial waste. The landfill capacity was 39 hectares. Auchinlea LFS ceased accepting waste and the last filling phase (Phase 9) was capped in 2013. Landfill gas management on site has included both methane oxidation via high temperature ground gas flare and a gas utilisation project where landfill gas generates electricity via two landfill gas engines for export to the grid. The Council currently hires a gas flare to oxidise this gas, however, the gas flare is currently oversized and unsuitable for burning gas in the combustion chamber at a temperature to meet the conditions of the current Waste Permit; PPC/A/1000113, Condition 8. This will require to be decommissioned and made safe.
