Description

Tenders are sought for the supply, delivery, installation of Metabolic Cart for the University of Limerick. The Human Performance Metabolism Laboratory located within the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Limerick is to be equipped with high specification, high performance and state-of-the-art measurement of human metabolism and metabolic physiology. An essential procedure within the laboratory is the measurement of cardiopulmonary function, pulmonary gas exchange and metabolism by indirect calorimetry (rate of oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide excretion at the mouth) at rest and during submaximal and maximal exercise in human subjects. Integrated instruments that fulfil these functions are generally referred to as a 'Metabolic Cart'
