Description

Bygningsstyrelsen is building new laboratory facilities for the benefit of the Institute of Biomedicine, Faculty of Health, Aarhus University. The new facilities will help to promote the institute's activities in relation to biomedicine as regards research, teaching and the dissemination of results. This contract comprises certain specified equipment for use in the animal holding facilities. These facilities are based on an IVC system with associated AWS and systems for the filling, cleansing and emptying of cages and the cleaning of shelving. The holding facilities have a capacity of 9 500 cages to mice, although part of that capacity is expected to be used for the housing of rats. Roughly 70 % of the capacity is expected to be reserved for breeding. The laboratory facilities are designed to meet the highest standards, especially as regards energy efficiency and reliability. Construction is expected to take place between late 2016 and 2019. Se II.1.4) above.
