The service is commissioned from a lead provider (PES) to deliver urgent eye care services from numerous local optical practices. The Service provides initial contact, telephone triage, remote consultations and where necessary face to face assessments and management of recent onset symptomatic or urgent ocular presentations. Lot 1: The service is commissioned to deliver urgent eye care services from numerous local optical practices. The Service provides initial contact, telephone triage, remote consultations and where necessary face to face assessments and management of recent onset symptomatic or urgent ocular presentations. The anticipated outcomes from the service include management within the service ( with patients discharged post management), onward referral to acute care (for patients requiring more complex management), onward referral to another healthcare provider (for patients requiring follow up outside the service). The service will also signpost any patients that do not meet service criteria to the most appropriate service for their needs.
