STRAT5577 – Whittington Health NHS Trust Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services (NEPTS) operational transport provision

Description

Lot 1: Following the modification, the NEPTS contract brings together both related service elements, both within the scope of the framework agreement under which it was awarded, which was established for "patient eligibility and booking services (lot 1) and non-emergency patient transport services (lot 2)". <br/><br/>Patient transport services (Lot 2). Patient Transport Service is the provision of transportation to and/or from hospital (and its constituent/associated clinics and other healthcare facilities) of patients (including but not limited to escorts and medical equipment where instructed or otherwise authorised by the Booking Provider) who, due to their medical conditions, require the skills or support from patient transport staff as they would otherwise not be able to attend their appointments and/or where use of public transport would have a detrimental effect on their health.<br/><br/>Patient eligibility and booking services (lot 1). The aim of the Booking Service is to take requests for PTS from patients, healthcare providers and carers, through electronic means and via telephone in accordance and in the manner set out in the Specification. The Contractor will be responsible for applying the Eligibility Criteria for each booking to ensure that transport is only provided to patients meeting the eligibility criteria. <br/> The framework was structured so that Lot 1 and Lot 2 operate as adjacent elements of the same patient pathway. Both elements serve the same NEPTS cohort, within the same pathway and for the same commissioned purpose.
