CalMac Ferries Ltd (CFL) requires an external supplier to produce robust, transparent and usable long-range unconstrained forecasts of passenger and vehicle demand across the ferry network. The forecasts will support short, medium and long-term planning, including strategic service design, future capacity planning, vessel and timetable considerations, and wider investment planning. Lot 1: CalMac Ferries Ltd (CFL) requires an external supplier to produce robust, transparent and usable long-range unconstrained forecasts of passenger and vehicle demand across the ferry network. The forecasts will support short, medium and long-term planning, including strategic service design, future capacity planning, vessel and timetable considerations, and wider investment planning. The network consists of 30 routes and the forecast is required for all routes. Historic carryings data is available from 2007 onwards. This commission is for the production of unconstrained passenger and vehicle demand forecasts. It is not a commission for detailed capacity modelling, timetable optimisation, vessel deployment planning or service option appraisal, although relevant evidence on service constraints may be considered where it materially affects the interpretation of historic demand
