Weishaupt Burners at Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda and Royal Glamorgan Hospital

NWSSP on behalf of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) intends to Direct Award a contract to the Weishaupt (UK) Ltd for the provision of Service maintenance of Weishaupt burners at Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda and Royal Glamorgan Hospital. A competitive procedure is unlikely to deliver meaningful competition due to the highly specialised, manufacturer specific nature of the Weishaupt burner systems. Undertaking a full competition would also risk delaying essential maintenance at operationally critical hospital sites. Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board therefore intends to award the contract directly to Weishaupt (UK) Ltd in accordance with Section 41 and Schedule 5 of the Procurement Act 2023. This is justified under: Schedule 5, Paragraph 6 – absence of competition for technical reasons; and Schedule 5, Paragraph 7 – where a change of supplier would result in incompatibility or disproportionate technical difficulties. The contractor is the incumbent and provides specialist, manufacturer-led servicing of Weishaupt systems across the sites. Due to recent capital upgrades and reliance on proprietary components and expertise, no reasonable alternative suppliers exist. A change in supplier would create a high risk of incompatibility, operational disruption, and non-compliance. ## Contract award Title: Weishaupt Burners at Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda and Royal Glamorgan Hospital
