Procurement of a wave and current warning system for fairways on the Norwegian coast - 2nd announcement

Description

The Norwegian Coastal Administration will enter into a framework agreement with a tenderer covering the operation and validation of current and future wave and current models, as well as the development of new wave and current models. The framework agreement will have a duration of four years. Lot 1: The Norwegian Coastal Administration offers advanced Wave and Current Models that are presented to end users through the Barentswatch portal. Barentswatch is an open information system consisting of various maritime digital services. Information on meteorological and oceanographic conditions is critical information for the Norwegian Coastal Administration's work with ocean safety, and is also a significant element for new services that will be developed within the frameworks of sustainability and e-Navigation/maritime ITS. Wave and current information will be a part of the Norwegian Coastal Administration's portfolio of digital information for sailors and other users, and will be available as public data. The service is nationwide, so sailors in all parts of the country can access warnings about wave heights and dangerous waves. Wave warnings for fairways is especially aimed at express boats and ferry traffic, but also has many other users. The service will be part of the route info of the map service. The aim of the procurement is to ensure good warnings on wave conditions for sea traffic along the entire Norwegian coast in order to increase safety for passenger boat and express boat traffic and other sea traffic.
