MEDITE Europe DAC are seeking suitably qualified companies to supply and install a Fire Protection and Suppression System for the Critical Motor Control Centre MCC of Line 1 Forming and Press. The successful contractor will be responsible for the design specification supply installation and commissioning of a new fire suppression system for this large MCC room critical for the operation of the Medite site. Medite require protection for the electrical control panels from the risk of fire damage by installing a suppression system that will stop a fire at source once detected. This suppression system must also be integrated into the existing site fire alarm system. In Scope The Contractor is responsible for the following Design and Specification The contractor will design and specify the solution which will include full room fire suppression encompassing the void under the timber floor panels and if necessary additional suppression localized to requisite panels. The contractor will detail the reasons why a particular solution is proposed. The chosen solution precludes the use of any Aerosol based system. Supply and Installation The contractor will supply all components of hardware and software for the solution proposed in the time set out. The contractor will be responsible for the full installation and commissioning of the new system in the time frame set out by the Client. Certifications and Testing The design specification equipment installation testing and maintenance of the system shall be in accordance with the applicable requirements in the latest edition of the following codes and standards NFPA No 2001 Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems NFPA No 70 National Electrical Code NFPA No 72 Standard for Protective Signaling EN 15004 1 2008 Gaseous Fire Extinguishing Systems BS 5893 1 2013 Factory Mutual Approval Guide UL Listings Room Integrity Test For any gaseous solutions proposed an RIT will be required by Medite done in accordance with Annex E of ISO 14520 2015 Ed to ensure the MCC room complies with E 2 8 8 Annex E of same standard. This will indicate whether the room meets the applicable minimum hold time requirement for the chosen extinguishing agent to maintain its minimum allowed concentration. Quality Assurance Manufacturer The manufacturer of the suppression system hardware and detection components shall be ISO 9000 registered. The name of the manufacturer shall appear on all major components. All devices components and equipment shall be new standard products of the manufacturers latest design and suitable to perform the functions intended. All devices and equipment shall be CE marked. Installer The Installer shall be deemed competent by the supplier to design install test and maintain fire suppression systems. The Installer shall be an experienced firm regularly engaged in the installation of automatic fire suppression systems in strict accordance with all applicable codes and standards. The Installer must have a minimum of five years experience in the design installation and testing of Clean Agent or similar fire suppression systems. A list of systems of a similar nature and scope shall be provided. Submittals The Supplier shall submit the following design information and drawings for approval prior to starting work on this project Installation layout drawings Auxiliary details and information such as maintenance panels door holders special sealing requirements and equipment shutdown Electrical layout drawings wiring diagrams Lifting Equipment and Access platforms to carry out works temporary mobile or fixed The Contractor is responsible for all Unloading Lifting Equipment and temporary Access platforms required to carry out works temporary mobile or fixed associated with the carrying out of all works as set out in the above scope works.
