Description

IÉ wishes to procure the services of a suitably experienced company for the design and manufacture of three emergency rolling stock recovery cradles for use on all Irish Rail (IÉ) fleet types, with the option for the procurement of an additional fourth cradle. These items are deemed to be of a safety critical nature by the Safety Management System within the Chief Mechanical Engineering department The cradles must be capable of supporting axle loads of up to 22.5T and be compatible with all Irish Rail fleet types. They must be easily transportable to recovery locations. The cradle must be capable of operating in multi-axle recovery scenarios, supporting 2-3 axles on the same bogie. Deliverables also include a first-in class inspection and testing at IÉ site and on-site training for 20 personnel. The supplier must provide certification for use and support Irish Rail in the approval and implementation process.
