Description

The project is to purchase a mobile catering unit to be placed at the Benmore Botanic Garden, Dunoon, to be able to fulfil a takeaway catering offer for the day visitors to the garden. The unit will be required to be in place and operational for the start of the 2022 visitor season on the 1st March 2022. A catering concessionaire will operate the unit based at Benmore Botanic Garden and will offer a menu showcasing local provenance. The unit should be in keeping with the Benmore Garden and natural surroundings and consider including environmentally friendly ways of working such as solar panel systems and be wooden cladded The unit must be able to cater hot and cold drinks with speciality and artisan teas and coffee being one of the unique selling points. Hot and cold food will also need to be served from the unit where the caterer will have the opportunity to make best use of local produce from Argyll and show case a menu of local provenance. The list below identifies what we believe are the core requirements for the catering unit however the below is not exclusive or exhausted and alternatives and additions identified in the tender response will be considered Towable road legal catering hut Consideration of treated timber frame or wood cladding Non slip flooring Serving hatch Menu display boards Stainless steel counters Instant hot water system Coffee machine Sink for food use Sink for hand wash Boiler/Tea Urn Hob/grill/hotplate to be able to serve hot food from Fridges Food Display units Electrically powered 3 Phase electric and water supply are onsite and we require the unit to be able to make use of these facilities There is no requirement for any gas appliances in line with our commitment to carbon neutrality. Unit such as mobile shepherd huts, converted horseboxes and any other towable solution is acceptable. We are not looking for a drivable converted vehicles such as ice cream vans or converted old European vehicles. The unit solutions can be either old or new. The unit must be ready and onsite to operate from the 1st of March 2022.
