The Council have already established a Flexible Framework (https://www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk/search/show/search_view.aspx?ID=SEP460524)for services linked to Scottish Attainment Challenge and Pupil Equity Fund. . This notice is for Entry Point 3, which is applicable for any potential Provider and/or setting that is not already on the Framework. . The original Framework was set up for 4 years, with included annual entry points to allow new Providers to apply to join the Framework, this would enable the Council to maintain capacity and choice. . Key objectives of Scottish Attainment Challenge is to provide opportunities for local authorities in addressing the poverty related attainment gap. . The Pupil Equity funding is additional funding allocated directly to schools with objective to allow flexibility within a local context for schools to target interventions aimed at closing the poverty related attainment gap. . It is envisaged that Service Providers appointed to this Flexible Framework will support these objectives. The resultant services will be made available to Primary, Secondary and Additional Support Needs schools within NLC. Lot 1: Activity Based Learning This Lot is part of the overall framework for potential providers to support North Lanarkshire Councils objectives to close the poverty related attainment gap. . To provide a service which engages and encourages pupils to learn and develop through participation in a range of learning activities and experiences which may include, but are not limited to, outdoor learning, sport and social activities aimed a closing the poverty related attainment gap. . Lot 2: Counselling This Lot is part of the overall framework for potential providers to support North Lanarkshire Councils objectives to close the poverty related attainment gap. . This Lot is to provide a counselling service that is universal. This will complement the range of whole-school and targeted approaches already available in schools to help support the mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing of children and young people. This Lot focuses on the provision of formal counselling and follows the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapy (BACP) definition of counselling which is: ‘a professional activity delivered by qualified practitioners in schools. Counsellors offer distressed children and young people an opportunity to talk about their difficulties, within a relationship of agreed confidentiality‘. . The services(s) provided should complement the range of activities which the local Authority currently provides. . This Lot is to provide a service which focuses on the support and encouragement of pupils to manage their own learning in order that they may develop their learning skills, supports nurture and health and wellbeing activities, improves their academic performance and maximises their potential. This service may include, but is not limited to, additional support with academic studies, coaching, youth work and support and mentoring activities, group and/or one-to-one support with pupils and/or families, resilience coaching, mediation, speech and language therapy. . This service may include, but is not limited to, mindfulness, yoga, confidence building, nutrition, diversity and health and wellbeing. . The service may include but is not limited to work-related learning experiences, employer involvement, family involvement and also development opportunities for teachers. .
