Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to secure the services of a suitably qualified, experienced supplier with a proven track record of providing innovative well-being services in the community. The new service will provide a community well-being resource where people can access support during a mental health crisis, preventing escalation of mental health problems and supporting people to develop the necessary skills to cope with a future crisis. The service will enhance the overall mental health pathway by offering an alternative and/or complimentary service for people experiencing mental distress and will support people to live healthy lifestyles, make healthy choices and contribute to reducing health inequalities. The service will be established in a dedicated building in close proximity to the centre of Chester and will provide a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment to promote independence, opportunity and recovery for people who are experiencing emotional and psychological distress. The development and delivery of key peer support networks for people accessing the service will be crucial and will underpin the service offer for people accessing the service. A lived experience and a person centred approach will support all elements of the service and inform on any future Service improvements. The service will develop, create and coordinate strong relationships with local third sector providers to add value to the service and maximize the outcomes for those people who access the service. The service will be developed, evaluated and improved by the community people who use the service and also the local community, to ensure it becomes a valuable asset that enables people to recover from their episode of mental distress and encourages resilience in the local population. The service is expected to be open from 10:00 – 24:00 (7 days per week, including weekends and bank holidays). The preferred provider will need to ensure that they are able to provide: — a core of trained staff and competent volunteers who have lived experience of mental illness, — appropriate levels of skills, governance and operating procedures to ensure the safe and effective delivery of the service, — the ability to monitor and report evaluation and outcomes.
