Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) Service

Description

Wokingham Borough Council are inviting tenders for the provision of Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC). It is Wokingham's vision to establish an integrated women's health hub. The commissioner and provider/s will work collaboratively to support opportunities to enhance the options available to residents. These will be discussed with the successful provider post-contract award. LARC is the first step of this plan, and the successful provider will be expected to play a key role in developing this vision in partnership with the contract commissioner. Lot 1: Contraception can be required by many different individuals in our community. This service specification refers to “individuals” which includes all women, transgender and non-binary people with female reproductive organs. The national Women’s Health Strategy emphasises the importance of increasing access to and choice of contraception, including Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC), for all individuals, and improving their experiences including during fitting and removal of an intrauterine device (IUD), intrauterine system (IUS), or contraceptive implants for initial of 2 years period
