Description

The University of Strathclyde’s Physics Department is looking to procure a cryogen-free refrigerator equipped with dc and rf electrical wiring to test and characterise quantum electronic devices. Lot 1: The Department of Physics at the University of Strathclyde is seeking to procure a cryogen-free refrigerator equipped with dc and rf electrical wiring to test and characterise quantum electronic devices. Due to specific requirements, the cryostat must meet the following requirements: - The system must be capable of a base temperature of 4 K or lower in continuous mode of operation with sample in vacuum and all electrical wiring in place. Apart from a vacuum pump for the OVC, all other components required for the system to reach base temperature must be provided - The system must have a cooling power of at least 0.5 W at 4K. - The system must be capable of fully automated cool down from room to base temperature. -The system must have DC wiring of at least 4 sets of 12 twisted pairs wires (or equivalent arrangement) from room T to the coldest plate (note 12 twisted pairs equals 24 individual wires). This wiring has to be dedicated to experiments and does not include any other wiring used for thermometry/heating. - The system must have RF wiring of at least 6 lines on coaxial cables with frequency band from DC up to at least 18 GHz from the room temperature stage to the coldest plate with cryogenic attenuators, breakout flanges and connectors at each intermediate stage. SMA termination/connector type is required. The system must be capable of complete electrical isolation between the cryostat chassis and the ground of control system (control panel and thermometry). - The system must be able to operate cryogen-free, i.e. without an external supply of liquid helium. Liquid nitrogen supply is allowed if needed. - The sample space must have a diameter of at least 100 mm - The cooling time from room to base temperature must not exceed 5h - The temperature instability at base must not exceed 100 mK - The rms vibration at the sample stage must not exceed 5 micrometer/ root Hz - The system must have a closed loop control system (heaters/sensors/PID controller) which enables continuous operation at arbitrary temperatures greater than Base and less than 35K atleast. - Be provided with software to control the equipment as a turn key solution. - Have a programmed interface to control and monitor all equipment and ancillaries.. The University is publishing this PIN for initial Market Research and Engagement purposes. The University may conduct further market engagement with the suppliers that note interest in this opportunity
